ALLIANCE FRANÇAISE KAMPALA
CENTER FOR LANGUAGES AND CULTURE(S)
Our goal at Alliance française Kampala is to encourage and to foster active and open ties between Ugandan and French language and Francophone cultures. It provides means for people to learn French and get committed into various aspects of French culture, as art, books, poetry, cinema, ideas… It gives to Francophone community a place to meet in an apolitic, secular and welcoming environment. The AfK is part of the global network of Alliance française. In Uganda, the Alliance française has been created in 1954 as a non-lucrative goal association. In 2009, it has become the linguistic operator of the French Embassy in Uganda.
As experts of didactics, all teachers from the AfK regularly attend trainings in Uganda, in the East-African Region and in France, to keep being up-to-date about the latest researchs about education and language teaching. The Head of Courses and the Language Department also work in close collaboration with the Association of French Teachers of Uganda and with the Cooperation Attaché for French Language in the French Embassy. The AfK is the only linguistic center in Uganda accredited to make you go through DELF/DALF diplomas and TCF certifications from the French Ministry of Education, the TEF from the Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Paris-Île de France and other exams (from University, but also DAEFLE…). The AfK is offering a wide range of offer, all levels of French (A1-C1), private & group classes, for adults as for children, for professionals as for individuals.
